Joylark is a NEW elevated plant-based dining destination in Fairfield, Connecticut, where elegance meets imagination, pushing the boundaries of plant-based cuisine and providing guests with unforgettable dining experiences. Our art deco–inspired space sets the stage for vibrant, seasonal cuisine with a spark of fun. At Joylark, we craft exquisite vegan dishes and drinks, provide exceptional hospitality, and have a great time doing it. We’re looking for Baristas to join our team, working with our Front of House Staff and the kitchen team. You will help bring Joylark’s vision of hospitality to life, ensuring that the bar experience is exceptional, ultimately bringing happiness to our guests. Your Role Will Include

  • Setting up (and/ or breaking down) the coffee and smoothie station for service and ensuring the area is clean and stocked. Setting up the bar for service as needed.
  • Preparing coffee drinks, teas, smoothies, juices, and other beverages for guests. Preparing and serving wine, beer, cocktails and mocktails, as needed. Preparing juices for the cleanse program.
  • Flexing your creative muscles, creating new drinks for the menu or as seasonal specials.
  • Providing superior hospitality and service to our guests.
  • Upholding standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization in accordance with health regulations and Joylark’s culture.
  • Keeping the bar and coffee station clean and stocked, and assisting in ordering and managing vendors.
  • Doubling as host or server during certain slower times, as needed.

We’re Seeking Someone Who Has

  • 1+ years experience as a successful Barista, with all associated skills and knowledge, including latte art, espresso machine functioning and cleaning, tea-making, etc.
  • Experience with juices and smoothies are a plus, but not required.
  • Bartending knowledge and skills preferred, but willingness and ability to learn required.
  • Willingness to work in all areas of the Front of House.
  • Genuine desire to provide the best in hospitality, always striving for more.
  • Abilities to work under pressure, and to make the most of less busy times.
  • Primarily a daytime position, but flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.

We’re looking for professional Servers to join our team, working with our Front of House Staff and the kitchen team. You will help bring Joylark’s vision of hospitality to life, ensuring that the dining experience is exceptional, ultimately bringing happiness to our guests.  This is a unique opportunity for a Front of House professional who wants to grow their career in a new direction.  Starting wage is $10 per hour, PLUS TIPS.

Your Role Will Include

  • Setting up (and/ or breaking down) the dining room for service and ensuring it is clean and stocked.
  • Serving guests and guiding their experience, ensuring exceptional hospitality for all.
  • Providing input for continued improvement in service operations.
  • Technical service duties, including knowing the menu, beverage pairings, upselling, flow of service, kitchen communication, etc.
